- This project is an implementation project of the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Project (CFLRP). The goal of the CFLRP project is to utilize collaborative, science based ecosystem restoration techniques to improve watershed function while encouraging ecological, economic and social sustainability with an emphasis on providing local employment opportunities. The work consists of annual trail opening and maintenance services on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Primarily, the work requires log out, drainage maintenance, and rock removal on Forest trails. Slide maintenance/tread repair is required in connection with uprooted trees or for small, isolated slides/slumps. The performance periods vary by item but the majority are estimated to start on or before June 1st with completion deadlines of August 15th. It is estimated that maintenance will be required on approximately 1000 miles of trails per year across the Forests. There will be approximately 15 line items, each compromised of a subset of trails located in close geographic proximity; the items will vary in size and may include wilderness trails, non-wilderness trails, and/or a combination of both. Multiple awards of indefinite-quantity type contracts are anticipated. Awarded contracts will include optional renewal periods in 2017 and 2018; exercise of these options is a unilateral right of the government and is not guaranteed.
