- Description
- SITE VISIT 15 MAR 2016, submitals due 08 MAR 2016. The JDA Powerhouse has been experiencing significant water flow through monolith construction joints and failed water stops. Water flow has exceeded the floor drainage collection system capacity in some areas (floor flooding with water running into generator electrical chases), galleries flooded with standing water, drainage channels overflowing, and volumes potentially exceed the drainage sump capacity. The presence of flowing, squirting, and free standing water is creating a significant safety hazard to personnel and equipment. This project is intended to implement corrective actions to correct some of these deficiencies and to identify necessary changes as well as how they would be implemented in the Powerhouse drainage systems. Specifically, this project is focused on corrective measures in the drainage gallery (a.k.a. grout gallery) to repair the leakage being experienced at the monolith joints. It is anticipated that there will be some small ancillary support required work like small pump and pipe installation, electrical conduit re-routing, and lighting upgrades. A site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, 15 MAR 2016 at 0930 PST to do a walkthrough of the gallery where monolith joint repairs are required. To request participation, provide the names of attendees to Jerimy Munroe at Jerimy.G.Munroe@usace.army.mil no later than 08 MAR 2016, 1700 PST. Site visit attendees must be US citizens and bring government-issued photo-ID on them (e.g. Driver's License, passport, etc.) with them on the day of the visit because they will need to show their IDs at the security gate before they are issued a visitor badge to access the project. Due to the somewhat tight physical space, only one or two individuals per company will be allowed. Attendees should know that there are areas where water is approximately 6" deep and spraying from all angles although it may be deeper in some areas. It is required that attendees wear knee high or taller watertight boots, hard hat, rain gear, and waterproof flashlight or headlamp. It is recommended that attendees bring waterproof cameras although specific allowance/denial of photographs or video during the site visit will be determined that morning. There will be a short pre-brief, a walkthrough, and a post-discussion session. It is estimated that onsite time will be three hours.
