Description
This preliminary notice announces an upcoming 2016 Training Innovations Day hosted by Submarine Learning Center (SLC), Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS), and Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS). The Training Innovations Day will occur in the August time frame at a facility and date identified in a final notice published on or about 06 April 2016. The 2016 Training Innovations Day will afford selected participants the opportunity to present current and emerging training innovations to help shape future learning technology focus of the Submarine Learning Center (SLC), Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS), and Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS). Training innovations can include, but is not limited to, virtual and augmented reality simulations, mobile computing, open content, electronic books, gesture-based computing, adaptive learning, intelligent tutoring, increased automation and artificial intelligence simulation, and massive multiplayer online games (MMOG). Training innovations may also encompass immersive virtual world based environments as well as other educational innovations providing a flexible and powerful set of capabilities available to an instructor. In the final notice the Government will publish descriptions of the down-selection process for 10 potential participants to present novel and innovative technologies. It is anticipated that novel and innovative technologies may encompass non-proprietary information and/or proprietary information. Therefore, selected participants will participate in one-on-one sessions with Government, thereby protecting proprietary information under 18 USC 1905. It is further anticipated that each selected participant will be limited to 30 minutes to brief their training innovations. Briefing templates will be provided to selected participants. THIS NOTICE IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH KNOWLEDGE SHARING ONLY AND IS NOT A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS OR SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO ENTITLEMENT TO PAYMENT OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT COSTS OR CHARGES BY THE GOVERNMENT WILL ARISE AS A RESULT OF SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES OR TRAVEL TO OR FROM THE INDUSTRY DAY.
