- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. NO ACTUAL QUOTES OR PROPOSALS ARE BEING SOUGHT AT THIS TIME. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. This is for market research purposes only. Do not include pricing information; it will not be evaluated. The Government will not pay for any information submitted under this notice. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS), is currently seeking information from any company that can provide onsite Hemodialysis services to eligible beneficiaries at VA Medical Center, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the VACIHCS. VACIHCS is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide on-site Hemodialysis service. Dialysis services must be provided by qualified registered nurses. The contractor will provide and maintain any equipment required for dialysis procedures and provide appropriate staff to perform the procedures as needed 24/7/365. Equipment used to perform dialysis procedures will be provided, cleaned and maintained by the contractor. Hemodialysis service requirement is for an estimated.6 FTE (defined as 1224 hours per year) for Registered Nurse (Hemodialysis), estimated.01 FTE (defined as 24 hours per year) for Registered Nurse (Peritoneal Dialysis), and estimated.9 FTE (defined as 180 hours per year) for Medical Machine Technician. The contract nurse(s)' shall provide hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by: -VA Standards: VHA Directive 2006-041 "Veterans' Health Care Service Standards" (expired but still in effect pending revision) https://www1.va.gov/vhapublications/ViewPublication.asp?pub_ID=1443 -The professional standards of the The Joint Commission (TJC) http://www.jointcommission.org/standards_information/hap_requirements.aspx -The standards of the American Hospital Association (AHA) http://www.hpoe.org/resources?show=100&type=8 The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621112, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal. The intended contract period would be for one base year and four, one-year option periods.
