- Synopsis: This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT Synopsis: ANGIOJET ULTRA SYSTEM WITH PERIPHERAL STENT KIT FOR ALBANY VA MEDICAL CENTER, ALBANY, NY 12208 1. The VISN 02, Network Contracting Office 02, is issuing a notice of intent to pursue a non-competitive procurement with Boston Scientific for (1) Angiojet Ultra Thrombectomy System and associated Angiojet Power Pulse Kit, plus various catheters. Boston Scientific has been determined as the only one responsible source as determined in accordance with procedures prescribed in FAR 13.106 and the anticipated contract action is hereby publicized in accordance with FAR 5.101 and 5.203. 2. The purpose of this notification is to communicate the Government's intent to solicit and award a non-competitive purchase of an Angiojet Ultra System directly from the manufacturer, Boston Scientific, for use by the Albany VA Medical Center. The preferred strategy is to procure this requirement as a sole source from the manufacturer. Anticipated award date is 14MAR2016. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL OR COST PROPOSALS. 3. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The Albany VA Medical Center in Albany, NY 12208 is in need of an Angiojet Ultra Thombectomy System to provide the most optimal healthcare solutions to patients being treated at the Albany VA Medical Center. The requested Angiojet Ultra System will be used to treat a wide range of thrombosis, to include response to emergency situations when clot forms during angiographic exams, used to declot dialysis fistula and treat deep vein thrombosis. This non-competitive award is implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b), as it has been deemed that only one source is reasonable available to meet this requirement. The Government intends to procure this sole source requirement under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The non-manufacturer rule as described by the SBA is applicable to this procurement. 7. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This notice of anticipated contract action is published as required by 15 USC 637(e), USC 1708, and implemented by FAR 5.201(a). For additional information regarding this action, please contact the POC as indicated below. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. 8.
