Description

Solicitation PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED. The Department of the Navy (DoN) intends to negotiate a one-time sole source contract with General Electric, 9900 Innovation Dr, Wauwatosa, WI 53226. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice will be distributed through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fbo.gov) and Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring FBO and NECO websites to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Classification System Code is 811219, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; the size standard is 20.5 million dollars. The Department of the Navy (DoN) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to General Electric, 9900 Innovation Dr, Wauwatosa, WI 53226 for the purchase of a Portable Ultrasound System. General Electric is the only system that meets DON's requirements. Based on market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government it has been determined DON's requirement can only be provided by General Electric as they are the sole manufacturing authority and hold all data, machinery and processes for production of this equipment. Sole-Source Justification will be posted upon award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement to this office by 10:00 am, EST, February 17, 2016, by email to the attention of Sherri Roche, Contract Specialist, at Sherri.d.roche.civ@mail.mil. Facsimile offers will not be accepted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone requests will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
