Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award for a one-time service to purchase and install fiber wire to the Woman Owned Small Business contractor E2 Telecom, 85 Summer Street, Wrentham, MA 02093. This is an urgent, time-sensitive one time requirement for the Brockton VAMC to ensure the full activation of the new Emergency Management Command Center, building #34. E2 Telecom installed the original system and has all of the necessary security clearance to fulfill this requirement in an expedited manner. This award will permanently rectify the temporary network connection at the Emergency Management Command Center and provide the Emergency Management Command Center optimum connectivity; which is essential to the safety of the New England VA facilities and patients. In addition, the completion of this work is critical as the current temporary network infrastructure is delaying the design/build construction project for the Emergency Operations Center (the technology systems of bldg. 34). As stated previously, this is a one-time urgent requirement with an expedited completion schedule due to potential patient safety issues; any future similar requirements appropriate for competition shall be issued using full and open competition. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures as authorized by FAR 13-106-1(b). This notice is neither a request for quote nor a solicitation for offers.
