The AC-130U Gunship's mission is close air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance in diverse and hostile combat environments as well as adverse, inclement weather conditions. Close air support missions include troops in contact, convoy escort and point air defense. Air interdiction missions are conducted against preplanned targets or targets of opportunity and include strike coordination, reconnaissance, and armed over-watch mission sets. The contemplated repair services strategy is a five year contract (basic plus four option years) through FY22. The projected quantities will be Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) of range of 1-6 per year depending on Government requirements and listed above. These NSN's listed above have Repair Method Codes (RMC/RMSC) of R3U or R5U. The explanations are below. RMC R3 - Repair, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actual manufacturer. RMC R5 - Repair directly from a sole source contractor which is not the actual manufacturer. RMSC U - The cost to the Government to breakout this part and repair it competitively has been determined to exceed the projected savings over the life span of the part. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey.
