- The Contractor shall provide and deliver the following instruments to their required specifications for setting up the ultrafast laser shock experiments: CLIN 0001 Three (3) Linear Translation Stage Linear translation stage must have a minimum 50 milimeters (mm) of travel Must have horizontal load capacity of at least 60 pounds (lbs) Must have a minium achievable incremental movement of 0.05 micrometre (m m) and a minimum repeatable incremental movement of 1 m m Must have a max velocity of 20 mm/second (s) Must have a velocity stability of ±0.4 mm/s Must have backlash of less than 6 m m Must have an on-axis accuracy of 10 m m over full travel Must have dimensions no larger than 12” x 6” x 2” Must have travel stage with dimensions no larger than 100 mm x 100mm Must have a travel stage with 12 ¼”-20 taps Must be constructed with thermally matched steel and heavy-duty crossed roller bearings Must have a trapezoidal lead screw stepper motor Must be controlled by CLIN0005 Must be able to interface with adapter (CLIN0002), bracket (CLIN0003), and base plate (CLIN0004) Must include a 3 meter (m) motor drive cable to interface with CLIN0002 CLIN 0002 One (1) Base Plate 1. The base plate must be aluminum alloy with dimensions of 7.7" x 3.9" x 0.47" (195 mm x 100 mm x 12 mm) Length x Width X Height (L x W x H). 2. The plate must have four (4) counterbored slots and three(3) clearance slots for 1/4"-20 cap screws, two dowel pin holes, and four 1/4"-20 tapped holes 3. Must be able to interface with CLIN0001 CLIN 0003 One (1) XY Adapter Plate 1. The XY mounting adapter plate must have dimensions of 3.94" x 3.94" x 0.94" (100 mm x 100 mm x 24 mm) (L x W x H). 2. The mounting adapter must provide the necessary clearance between 2 separate translation stages for a left- or right-handed XY translation stage configuration. 3. The adapter must have six 1/4"-20 tapped holes, four (4) dowel pin holes, one (1) counterbore for 1/4"-20 cap screws, and two Ø0.29" through holes 4. Must be able to interface with CLIN0001 CLIN 0004 One (1) Right Angle Bracket 1. The right angle bracket must be an anodized aluminum right-angle bracket that orients translation stages in the vertical axis and have dimensions of 4.25" x 3.46" x 5.26" (108 mm x 88 mm x 134 mm) (L x W x H). 2. The bracket must allow for the construction of XZ translation stage arrangements. 3. The base of the bracket must have six counterbored holes for 1/4"-20 cap screws. 4. The side of bracket must have two 1/4"-20 tapped holes and eight Ø0.30" (7.5 mm) through holes. 5. Must be able to interface with item CLIN0001, CLIN0002 and CLIN0003 for constructing XYZ translation stages. CLIN 0005 One (1) Three Channel Benchtop Stepper Motor Controller Stepper Motor Controller must be designed for controlling CLIN0001. Must have 15-pin, D-type female motor drive and control input/output connectors. Must have 2-Phase Bipolar Motor Drive Output, Differential Quadrature Encoder (QEP) Input, Forward, Reverse Limit Switch Inputs, Encoder 5 Volts (V) (with Ground). Must have following functions: Jog Forward/Back Inputt ransistor-transistor logic (TTL), User Logic Input/Output (TTL), Single-Ended Analog Input (0 - 10 V), User 5 V (with Ground) 100 miliamperes (mA) Max, Trigger Input/Output (TTL). Microsteps per Full Step must be 2048 for 200 step motors. Can control 409600 microsteps/rev or better for 200 step motors. Must have motor drive voltage of 48 V and power of 50W (peak) or 25 W (avg). Can control motors with speeds up to 300 revolution per minute RPM for 200 step motors Must have encoder feedback bandwidth of 500 kilohertzs(KHz). Can control motors which have following specifications: 5-50 W peak power, 25 W average power max, 20 O -1.8 O step angle range, 4 - 15 Ω coil resistance, 4 – 15 miliHenrys (mH) coiliInductance, and 0.1 - 1A r ated phase currents. Must haveUSB connectivity. The controller must have ActiveX Controls which can be incorporated into a wide range of software development environments including Labview, C++, and Matlab. CLIN 0006 One (1) Imperial Linear Stage Control The complete stage and controller package must include a direct-drive translation stage and a brushless direct current motor controller. The translation stage must provide minimum 300 mm of travel with a minimum incremental movement of 100 nanometers (nm), encoder resolutuion of 50 nm and a maximum speed of 400 mm/s. The stage must have Bidirectional Repeatability of at most ± 0.25 m m. The stage must have horizontal load capacity of at least 20 lbs. The stage must not surfer from backlash. The stage must have an on-axis accuracy of at most ± 7.5 m m. The stage must have dimensions of 20" x 6" x 2" or less, straightness/flatness of ± 4.0 m m The stage must have travel stage with dimensions no larger than 100 mm x 100mm The stage must have a travel stage with 12 ¼”-20 taps. The stage must be constructed with integrated, brushless linear motors and twin, precision-grooved linear bearings The stage must have magnetic sensor at each end of stage. The controller must be designed for controlling the stage. The controller must have USB connectivity. The controller must support ActiveX Controls which can be incorporated into a wide range of software development environments including Labview, C++, and Matlab. Must include a at least 2 m motor drive cable to interface with the controller. CLIN 0007 Two (2) NanoRotator Stage 1. R otation stage must rotate 360 O continuously rotation. 2. Must have on axis load capacity of at least 110 lbs. 3. Must have worm drive mechnanism. 4. Must have reference signal for every 360 O. 5. Motor type must have 2 phase stepper. 6. Must have a resolutuion of < 1 arcsec. 7. Must have a minium speed of 50°/ sec. 8. Must have an accuracy of 5 arc min or better. 9. Must have a bidirectional repeatability of 10 arcsec or better. 10. Must be controlled by CLIN0010 CLIN 0008 Two (2) Adapter Plate FFP The adapter plate must be make of anodized aluminum and c an be interfaced with CLIN0007. Must have a diameter of 98 mm and a thickness of 10 mm Must have 17 1/4"-20 or M6 Mounting holes, four #8 or M4 fixing holes. CLIN 0009 One (1) Table Mounting Plate The adapter plate must be make of anodized aluminum and c an be interfaced with CLIN0007 to be mounted horizontally on optical table Must have dimensions of 114 mm x 100 mm x 10 mm) (L x W x H). Must have 4 counterbore holes for 1/4"-20 cap screws. CLIN 0010 One (1) Benchtop Stepper Motor Controller Stepper Motor Controller must be designed for controlling CLIN0007. Must have 15-pin, D-type female motor drive and control Input/Output connectors.
