- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. NAVAIR 1.3.3.9 Program Manager for the Navy's Landing Signal Officer Display System (LSODS) is seeking sources and information for shipboard, 15" color displays. Application Overview: The LSODS provides an integrated set of displays, controls, and processing equipment for use by the Landing Signaling Officers (LSO) aboard Naval aircraft carriers. The LSODS provides the LSO with video imagery, radar data, and other landing-critical information aiding the safe and expeditious recovery of aircraft aboard ship. Subject Item of Interest: Color display which is a crucial component of the LSODS. Required for a technology refresh of LSODS to resolve some obsolescent issues within the system. The display shall satisfy the following REQUIREMENTS: Screen viewing area: 11 inches wide x 8.3 inches high (minimum) Preferred Display size: 15 inches (minimum) Video Resolution: 1024x768 pixels (minimum) Sunlight readable: 10:1 contrast ration or greater per MIL-STD-1472G; output at 850 nits (minimum) Screen response time: 36 milliseconds response time black to white (maximum) Brightness - day/night mode settings: Day mode: Output between 5.0 foot-lamberts to 248 foot-lamberts Night mode: Output between 0.1 foot-lamberts to 5 foot-lamberts Night Vision Device (NVD) Compatibility: NVD ANVIS-B Compatible (MIL-STD-3009) Environmental requirements: Display to be designed to meet above deck shipboard environmental requirements. MIL-STD-810G-Change 1 qualification methods will apply addressing operational temperature; non-operational temperature; humidity; salt-fog; driving rain; ice and freezing rain; wind; vibration; fungus; shock; solar radiation; ship motion; and, electromagnetic environmental effects. Power: Single phase, 115 VAC, 60 Hz per MIL-STD-1399 section 300A, Type I Physical/space requirements: Specific information will be provided to interested responders. Required Response Information: Responders are requested to provide: 1. A brief description of the offered display and its capabilities; 2. Actual size, weight and power consumption; 3. Maturity and expected life; 4. Availability (i.e., off the shelf, requires development/modification, in production) 5. Description of modifications (if any) to an existing color display product to meet the requirements.
