- Description
- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Philadelphia is interested in developing sources to furnish effort including labor, material, and facilities as may be required to repair the items specified within this document. As noted above, currently, absent interest by/approval of additional sources, the Government intends to negotiate a contract for this effort with the only approved source, Pacific Propeller International of Kent, WA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Specifically, the Government intends to award a contract for the repair of the attached NIINs in support of the P-3 aircraft. It should be noted by potential interested sources that while the Government has available Navy repair/overhaul manuals for access by interested sources (see note below regarding gaining access), the Government does not have the rights to, and thus cannot provide access to, technical data/drawings that may be required for manufacture or parts acceptance. It should also be noted that because the items on this procurement include Critical Safety Items (CSI), interested sources must obtain Navy source approval in order to be eligible for award. (Note regarding access to Navy repair manuals: interested sources should contact Christina Vidal, see below contact info, in order to obtain further information on accessing available Navy repair manuals.) While interested sources are invited to submit a source approval request, due to the Fleet ™s need for the subject repair effort, the time required for approval of a new source is normally such that the contemplated award cannot be delayed pending approval of a new source. Submission of a source approval request, however, may enable an interested firm to become an approved source for a future procurement; it is expected there will be an ongoing need for this type of effort while the P-3 aircraft remains in service. For information or questions regarding this notice, please contact Ms. Christina Vidal, by email at christina.vidal@navy.mil or phone (215) 697-3642.
