Description
The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to participate as a sponsor of the Innovation Pavilion and Venture Investment Conference at the 2016 Water Environment Federation's Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) on a sole source basis. The conference will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA on September 24-28, 2016. The Water Environment Federation's Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) is the largest meeting of its kind in North America, offering the best water quality education and training available. It is essential that our current grantees keep their finger in the pulse of technology by participating and for educators and learning professional and help contribute to evolving technological advances by forming new companies and learning about the NSF SBIR program that can catalyze these new advances. NSF participation will also add to public awareness that NSF supports small business to develop and commercialize innovations with the broader impact of improved education that can enhance the lives of US citizens. As a sponsor, NSF can reach out to a large number of participants at a fraction of the cost of holding its own event. Under the order, the funding will cover the costs of exhibit space and kiosk within the incubator pavilion, furnishings, evening reception for the SBIR awardees at no cost, an evening networking sessions for the SBIR awardees, electricity and internet usage, and signage and supplies. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only.
