THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTE; THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15, in support of Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System, is currently requesting information to determine the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing and installing fiber optic cable for the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System, John Cochran Division, 915 North Grand Blvd., Saint Louis, MO 63106-1621. The intended contract period of performance will start within 60 days of award date and expire within 6 months of award date. Description of Services: The contractor will furnish, install, terminate, and functionally validate two (2) 48 strand armored fiber optic cables from the second floor, room C218, to the basement, room A001at the VA St. Louis Health Care System, John Cochran Division, 915 North Grand Blvd., Saint Louis, MO 63106-1621. Vendor will provide all materials and labor to complete the below outlined work: -Complete a site visit and conduct an evaluation walk-through to note starting and ending locations for the fiber optic cable runs as well as potential pathways for cables to follow between the two spaces. -Provide a proposal to VASTLHCS technical staff (OI&T and Biomed) outlining suggested routes for the primary and the redundant fiber optic cable. -Upon approval of proposal by VASTLHCS technical staff, install the primary and redundant fiber optic cables between room C218 and room A0001. (Each fiber optic cable shall at a minimum be armored 48 Strand Laser Optimized OM3 Fiber Cable.) -Install fiber enclosures and adapter panels in the starting and ending locations. -Terminate all fiber optic cable strands to the above noted enclosures and adapter panels. -Rack dress and label all cables and terminations per standard operating procedure of VASTLHCS OI&T staff. -Verify and test functionality of the installed fiber optic cables. -Provide a closeout report to the VASTLHCS technical team outlining the fiber optic cable pathways and all results of the functionality testing completed. The NAICS code assigned is: 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors) and the small business size standard is $15.0 M. The Government is not soliciting offers at this time, and it will be the Contracting Officer who will determine which suggested changes are accepted. This is a sources sought notice to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this request will be considered for the purpose of determining how the requirements will be stated and how the procurement will be conducted. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.
