Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis and issue an order with Hudson Alpha Institute for Biotechnology, Huntsville, AL 35806 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b). This request is for Human Whole Genome Sequencing on HiSeq X10, 24 DNA samples (2 lanes per sample) Cambridge Epigenetix (CEGX) TrueMethyl Kit. The research projects require oxidated Trumethyl protocol for bisulfite DNA library construction of DNA samples and methylation sequencing in order to evaluate DNA methylation levels as biomarkers of disease. The sequencing must measure -25,000,000 cytosines using the CEGX TruMethyl protocol in the human genome utilizing two lanes of HiSeq X10 (2 x 150pb paired end) for each sample in order to achieve approximately 20-30X bisulfite sequencing depth. Project must be completely compatible with previous experimental data which used the CEGX TruMethyl protocol. Delivery is quality control preprocessed fastq data files from bisulfite treated sequence reads. Award is subject to approval of the Sole Source Justification. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, an interested party may submit a statement of capabilities if they believe they can meet the above requirement. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and contain sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can provide the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received within 15 days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice, an award will be made to Hudson Alpha Institute for Biotechnology. The NAICS Code/Size is 541990/$15.0 Million. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available. No faxed documents will be accepted. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Deitra Lunney via email Deitra.lunney@nih.gov
