- Title: Notice of Intent for award of sole source purchase order for an Ultrastable Laser System for the Air Force Research Labs (AFRL). Description: THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The 377 th MSG Contracting Office at Kirtland AFB, NM intend to award a sole source contract to Stable Laser Systems for the purchase of Part: SLS-INT-1556-100-1, Frequency Stabilized Laser System at 1556.2108 nm with Linewidth <1 Hz at 1s, for the Air Force Research Labs. The system shall be comprised of a laser with the following properties: •· Central operating wavelength of 1556.21 nm •· Delivers at least 5 mW of laser light via PM fiber with an FC/APC connector, available for the end user •· Tunability of at least 10 GHz about the center wavelength specified above •· Spectral linewidth of less than 2 Hz •· Fractional frequency instability as characterized by the Allan Deviation, for averaging times between 1 second and 10 seconds, of 5e-15 or less •· Long-term performance, characterized by a linear drift of the laser frequency, of less than 5 Hz/second and less than 50kHz/day. •· Includes all electronic components needed to operate the laser and realize the above frequency stability requirements with turnkey operation •· Includes all optical components need to operate the laser and realize the above frequency stability requirements •· Includes a temperature controlled housing with appropriate performance to realize the above frequency stability requirements •· All above components included in a single box capable of mounting into a 19-inch electronics rack, and accepting a single 110V standard US outlet plug •· Includes a vibration isolation platform capable of supporting the above 19-inch box in order to suppress vibration-induced degradation of performance •· Includes all necessary training for the end user as well as manuals or other documentation necessary for maintaining the system's performance •· Includes a warranty of at least 1 year. The Stable Laser Systems. is the only manufacturer of rack-mount frequency stabilized laser units at the required Hz level, and the only authorized vendor in the United States. Anticipated date of award is 21 July 2016. The FSC Code is 6030, the NAICS Code is 333314 and the size standard is 500. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement within fifteen (15) days of this announcement. Responses are due No Later Than 12:00 AM (MST) on 21 July 2016. Questions may be addressed to Virginia Garcia, Contract Specialist, PH: 505-846-2917, E-Mail: virginia.garcia.1@us.af.mil
