Description

Army Contracting Command- Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) intends to award a Sole Source contract to Vectronix in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case BU-B-UBF. The contract shall consist of a quantity of ten (10) Vector 21 Handheld Laser Rangefinders. The proposed contract action is for hardware for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. Vectronix is the original manufacturer for the Vector 21 Handheld Laser Rangefinders and is the only source that possesses the Technical Data needed for production of these items. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government does not intend to fund the development of qualification of other sources for fulfilling the development of qualification for other sources for fulfilling this requirement, as production of the supplies listed requires a substantial initial investment or an extended period of preparation for manufacture. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based upon the responses received. Responses to this notice are considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
