Description
PWS - DRAFT Final Plating Vendor Capability Statement DRAWINGS - Multiple This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought Notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This is not a Request for a Quote (RFQ). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Letterkenny Army Depot is currently conducting market research to locate qualified, experienced, and interested potential sources. Negative replies are also sought. Letterkenny Army Depot is seeking information concerning the availability of contractors to provide all facilities, personnel, equipment, tools, materials, resources, supervision, quality control and other items and non-personal services necessary to prepare, plate, chemically treat, and finish critical metal surfaces on U.S. Army equipment parts (see attached Plating Vendor Capability Spreadsheet and Drawings ) that require properties not normally present in the base metal to ensure required performance over the part's service life. Specifically Letterkenny Army Depot is seeking industry input in regards to the Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) structure and Unit of Issue (I/U). The Depot's mission covers multiple programs and the assets that require plating change on a monthly basis. We are requesting industry input on CLIN and I/U that will allow for the parts listing to change throughout the contract life. The CLIN structure will have to be based on the different plating types and the U/I would have to be based on the surface amount to be plated, the amount of material required to plate, the time required to plate, average sizes of the assets (grouped into small/med/large), etc. Letterkenny Army Depot is seeking information on best pricing practices used in the industry to support a more flexible contract structure. Drawings have been provided to illustrate a sampling of the different types of assets that would be plated. Upon review of industry response to this Sources Sought Synopsis, the Government will determine whether to solicit on a sole source basis, whether to set-aside the acquisition or compete on a full and open basis. All contractors interested in supplying this service may indicate their interest in this potential acquisition by supplying responses that should include: (1) Identification of company size status, certifications, i.e. 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, small business. (2) Proof of experience and capability to provide services necessary to prepare, plate, chemically treat, and finish critical metal surfaces of the finish types listed in the Plating Vendor Capability Statement in accordance with the Drawings. (3) Please indicate which NAICS code(s) your company usually performs under Government contracts. For the purposes of the RFI, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332813 - Electroplating, Plating, Polishing, Anodizing, and Coloring. The small business size standard is 500. If your firm is capable of the requirements described in this RFI, please provide a Capability Statement and any recommendations on CLIN and U/I to Miss Kristin E. Robson, kristin.e.robson.civ@mail,.mil, by 15 July 2016, 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The government plans to use the Internet and e-mail as the primary means of disseminating and exchanging information. Hard copies of documents posted on FBO will not be made available.
