Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) intends to award a sole source contract award to Steris Corporation 5960 Heisley Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060-1834. The period of Performance is from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2020. This requirement is to provide all necessary labor and materials for service on Steris Sterilizers and Washers for preventative maintenance/service and on-call emergency support to include full support for all components and software. Items are located at the Stratton Albany VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, New York 12208-3410. The service maintenance plan will include scheduled preventive maintenance will include, but not be limited to, electrical safety testing, lubrication, adjustment, calibration, testing, and replacement of parts which would normally be replaced during the course of a standard PM (as recommended/required by manufacturer procedures), or parts found in the manufacturers "PM Kit". The contractor's PM procedures will be comparable to that required by the equipment manufacturer. The service agreement will cover the following government furnished equipment: VA ID # Equipment Description Serial Number 120968Steris/AMSCO model V116 Century Pre-Vac Steam Sterilizer013260016 121171Steris/AMSCO model 3012 Eagle Washer/Sterilizer013540028 199060Steris/AMSCO model FS321101 Century G116 Gravity Steam Sterilizer w/Liquids cycle added030611126 Steris Corporation is the only known provider since Steris is the sole factory-authorized supplier of parts and service for the computerized sterilization systems.. In addition, Steris is the only company that can provide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part, distributers are not authorized. The OEM parts will be installed by factory certified field technicians for preventative maintenance parts replacement, and unscheduled maintenance including major parts such as CPU boards, Control boards, Output Cards and displays, as well as, pumps, compressors, blower assemblies, sonic generators, heat exchangers, and heater coils, etc. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by July 29, 2016 by 2:00 p.m. (EST). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to Kimberly.wiatrowski@va.gov.
