- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to vendor questions: Q1-PAY SCALE FOR WORK FORCE - Contractor directed; Register of Wage Determination attached to RFQ. Q2-CONDUITS ABOVE CEILING YES OR NO - Yes, where warranted. Q3-DISTANCE OF FIBER RUNS - Undetermined, but the Site Visit was provided to support Contractor's assessment of the scope and scale of the job. Q4-IS THERE FREE VEHICLE PARKING WHILE ON THE PROJECT - No, but public transport to the site by rail and bus is available. Q5-IS THERE A ROOM TO LEAVE EQUIPMENT WHILE ON THE PROJECT - The Port of JFK will provide space for the equipment to support the job, as well as for individuals to place their personal effects during each work day. Q6-DO YOU REQUIRED A NYS SECURITY LICENSE TO DO THIS INSTALLATION - No, but all Contract Personnel will be vetted IAW the SOW prior to gaining access to the site. Q7-DO YOU REQUIRED TO BE AVIGILON CERTIFIED - No. •1. The network design drawing shows redundant fiber between IDFs. Is this an additional 6-strand SM and should this be a physically separated path from the core switch connected fibers? •Ø There is redundancy, since there are direct strands run between the MDF Server and IDFs, as well as a redundant strand between IDFs, which creates a closed loop and, therefore, separate switch accesses to each IDF from the MDF Server. •2. We are asked for full redundancy on the network backbone but the core switch is a single point of failure for the network and if an IDF power supply drops you may lose spanning tree ability. Is the redundancy referring to physical fiber locations or how the network will function? •Ø Yes, it refers to physical redundancy. A Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) will help mitigate power issues, but we'll not be able to complete circumvent such events. •3. Are we to supply the licensing for the existing cameras migrating from Bosch to Avigilon in terminal 1? •Ø Yes, all licenses needed for any replacement will need to be included in your calculation. •4. Is there a manufacturer build sheet on the existing Terminal 1 server or has the hardware performance been vetted with the Avigilon spec. team? •Ø Neither is there a build sheet, nor vetted performance. •5. The IDF switches do not identify any copper connections. (10/100/1000mbps, PoE). Is there a standard copper port count per switch or no copper connections required? •Ø Terminal 1 terminates at each IDF and switch count should be based on eighty-six (86) total cameras. •Ø Likewise, Terminal 4 terminates at each IDF and switch count should be based on one-hundred and seventy-one (171) total cameras. •6. On the site survey it was mentioned that power drops for a few minutes before generator backup kicks in. Do we need Uninterruptable Power Supplies in each IDF? If so, how do we size the UPS? (runtime, load) •Ø Redundancy calls for UPS systems. The load factor should be based on equipment at time of installation and a minimum 5-8 minute run time. •7. The JetBridges that adjust vertically need a flexible connection to the building. Cat6 is not rated or recommended because of the solid core. Should we use fiber or coax rated for this and media transceivers? •Ø The Government wishes to hear how the contractor would overcome this point of contention with the most reliable and cost-effective solution.
