- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention NIOSH - Office of Mine Safety and Health Research intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Geotechnical Consulting & Testing Systems, LLC of 6103 South Maple Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85283 for a wireless point load testing system and ultrasonic velocity testing system with accessories and computer. Geotechnical Consulting & Testing Systems, LLC load and velocity testing systems are capable of collecting point load index values and acoustic emissions from various types and conditions of rock samples. The device is portable and capable of withstanding the harsh mining environments to allow for testing of core on site rather than in a laboratory, increasing the number of viable samples. This is the only complete system capable of measuring and recording all required acoustic emissions both in the laboratory and field. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations or responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation or response should be sent by electronic mail to the contract specialist at JCarolan@cdc.gov by COB 08/08/16.
