Description
Flushing of Water Lines in Baumholder Military Community Subject performance work statement provides for a pipe network cleaning of water supply lines within the Baumholder Military Community by applying the impulse flushing procedure. Flushing work shall be performed in 6 (six) stages each of which will in turn cover a distance of approximately 400 to 4,500 meters. The individual sections can be taken from Appendix B. The cleaning process, is being based on the controlled, impulse-like addition of compressed, technically pure air within a defined, pressure-reduced cleaning segment. For initiation of such process, the complete system requires calibration. By process as being computer-supported, four-fold filtered air is being charged into the water thru the impact of the following parameters: nominal width of pipe line, length and characteristics of pipe section to be cleaned, pipe network static pressure, and pipe network lowered static pressure. Work shall be performed within Airfield and the Smith Barracks Area of Baumholder Military Community After completion of flushing work, a checklist filled out by the Contractor shall be submitted to the DPW Utilities Section. The checklist report serves as a work performance record. The following verifications shall be submitted for each section flushed: - Flushing protocol with all relevant parameters - Gate valve position protocol with pipeline routes - Daily report on all work carried out - Notebook records of quantities of air and water injected - Verification of impulses injected
