- Description
- Statement of Work Past Performance Questionnaire PART II Past Performance Questionnaire PART I Combined Synopsis/Solicitation The NIST Center for Neutron Research (Building 235) at the Gaithersburg, MD campus has two road barrier stations. One station has two 12-foot-long hydraulic popup road barriers (Nasatka Model III-b installed in 2003) and the other station consists of one 14-foot-long electric popup road barrier (Nasatka Model IIIB-E (Electric) installed in 2010). The electric barrier is equipped with the variable frequency drive option. Each station has a lockable master control panel, ground loop detectors, snow melting heaters, and each barrier has its own traffic light (red & yellow) and gate arm. The barriers have two modes of operation: normal with a raise time of 5 seconds and emergency with a raise time of 2 seconds. The barriers are normally down and are only operated once per week for testing purposes only. The average run time is less than 1000 hours per year. To ensure continuous operation of the road barriers, it is essential that a routine program of inspection, maintenance and emergency repair services be established and followed. Both barrier stations are equipped with equipment so that they can be remotely controlled from two locations inside building 235. Servicing the remote control equipment is part of the maintenance contract. In addition to popup road barriers building 235 has two manually operated beam barricades (Delta Scientific Corporation Model TT212EC(M)). The beam barricades were installed in 2012. They are only operated a couple times per year and no maintenance has been done to them since they were installed. Maintaining the operation and appearance of the beam barriers is part of the maintenance contract. Reference the combined synopsis/solicitation, statement of work, and past performance questionnaire.
