- Description
- Red River Army Depot (RRAD) in Texarkana, TX, is seeking possible sources to provide the equipment listed below. Please respond if your firm is interested in providing this equipment. One (1) each rebuilt VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) such as a Bullard Cutmaster or equal product. The Lathe shall be used in the process of skiving and denuding rubber from the M1 (25X6) Road Wheels. The Vertical Turret Lathe shall have the following characteristics and meet or exceed the following specifications: • A table with a four (4) built in T-Slot jaw chuck with jaw chucks provided and with a size range of 36 inches to 42 inches. • A side head with a swing range of 34 inches to 39 inches up and 44 inches to 45 inches down. • A digital readout system for all three (3) axes. • A distance under the rail of 25 inches to 30 inches. • A cross vertical travel of 18 inches to 20 inches. • A table to face of turret distance of 40 inches to 41-1/4 inches. • A turret head vertical travel of 24 inches to 26 inches. • A five (5) sided swiveling turret square head tool post on the cross slide with holes of 2-3/4 inches. • A distance of table to underside of side head slide of 19 inches to 20-7/8 inches. • A minimum side head vertical travel of 30-1/4 inches. • A minimum side head horizontal travel of 18 inches. • Three speed ranges ranging from 4.9 RPM's to 180 RPM's. • Independent feed rates for each head with a range of.003 inches to.500 inches. • Capability of both vertical and horizontal heads to be engaged simultaneously. • For safety a minimum requirement of two (2) Emergency Stops and mechanical limit stops on each axis rail. • Equipment will be powered from a 440 to 480 volt three (3) phase 60 Hz circuit. • Contractor shall provide two (2) sets, hard copy and digital, of operations and maintenance manuals for the VTL and peripheral equipment. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this Sources Sought or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of Small and Large Business Community to include 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to compete and perform a Firm Fixed Price Contract. No award will be made as a result of this Sources Sought. This Sources Sought is only to seek information from industry. Please submit letter of interest to include: 1. Any certifications 2. Any past Government awards 3. Business size and status 4. List of prior projects that involve the supply of the proposed system and/or systems that are similar to the system being proposed. 5. Related product manuals/brochures 6. Related sub-assembly testing references, including contact information, shall be furnished. This request is only seeking possible sources for equipment specified.
