Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition the purchase of a Helios G4 UX NanoLab to support the Electron Microsopy Unite of the Research Technologies Branch (RTB) from FEI Company, 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive, Hillsboro, OR 97124. The Helios G4 UX is the only FIB-SEM microscope with UniColoreTM technology, a monochromated Schottky thermal field emission source. This technology surpasses the resolution performance of a cold field emission source by effectively limiting the energy spread of the probe to less than 0.2 eV. In combination with immersion lens technology, the result is a SEM that provides sub nanometer resolution from 1 keV to 30 keV. The instrument also employs the only Ga+ FIB that provides superior resolution from 500 V to 30 kV. The FIB provides up to 65 nA of beam current with Time-of-Flight correction. The key features of the Helios G4 UX include the only DualBeam with a monochromated SEM, state of the art FIB with a range of 500 eV - 30 keV, 0.78 pA - 65 nA beam current that is time-of-flight corrected. In addition to the convenience and ease of use, the Helios NanoLab offers remote operation and remote diagnostic capabilities. This is not a request for soliciation. All responsible sources may submit a response that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted no later than 2:00 PM eastern standard time August 15, 2016 to pamela.nevels@nih.gov.
