This Project is Set Aside For NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic s Small Business (SB) Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC), For Design Build (DB) And Design Bid Build (DBB) Projects In The Northeast Area Of Responsibility (AOR); Contract Numbers: N40085-14-D-5245, N40085-14-D-5250, N40085-14-D-5249, N40085-14-D-5247, N40085-14-D-5248, AND N40085-14-D-5246. The project shall include a renovation to the CSTL space of 1171. The area footprint includes approximately 15,000 square feet of a 22 -0 high bay which has a drop acoustical ceiling, and includes a variety of spaces which include office and lab spaces. The work shall include selective removal of mechanical equipment, ductwork, piping, controls as shown on the contract documents. The space will be provided with a new HVAC system, and specialized climate controlled units for the lab spaces. The new mechanical system will utilize the existing heating hot and chilled water piping system as the heating and cooling medium. The lab spaces will be provided with direct expansion cooling systems due the use and special requirements for year round cooling. The electrical system serving the new mechanical equipment will be upgraded as well as removal of electrical equipment. The CSTL space is currently served by an above ceiling sprinkler system and below ceiling sprinkler system in some areas. Other areas do not have below ceiling sprinklers and rely on melt-away tiles. The incoming fire service is 8-inches. The project includes installing new ceiling level semi-recessed sprinklers in the areas indicated on the drawings (areas with melt-away tiles). Design of the sprinkler system shall be by hydraulic calculations. The contractor is responsible for providing their own hydrant flow test. Provide a new floor control valve assembly, as indicated on the drawings, with a tamper switch and a flow switch tied into the existing fire alarm system.
