- Description
- The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information on vendors that are capable of providing a Automated Microscopy Stage Upgrade System meeting the requirements discussed below. The purpose of this notice is to identify organizations capable of providing equipment which meets these requirements. This announcement is not a Request for Proposals or Quotes (RFP/RFQ) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. The information contained in this notice is DRAFT only and as such, is subject to change prior to issuance of a solicitation. No solicitation is available at this time. After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed, NIST may conduct a competitive or non-competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. If at least two qualified small business sources are identified during this market research stage, and they are proposing equipment which complies with the Non-Manufacturer Rule standards/exceptions, this acquisition may be solicited as a small business set aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses (SB, SDB, WOSB, HUB Zone, SDVOSB and VOSB). This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 334419 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. Interested business organizations that believe they may be capable of meeting NIST's desired specifications detailed below should provide a capability statement demonstrating the ability of the Contractor's equipment to meet all of NIST's requirements. Contractors may provide supplemental information within this document or as an attachment at their discretion. NIST requires an Automated Microscopy Stage System platform that is pin-to-pin compatible to a M26821LOJ stage with USB controller, a PD73Z2COW PInano Z Piezo Slide Scanner with Controller, M-687. AP1 Holder, and a C 843.41 DC-Motor Controller. The Automated Microscopy Stage System must meet the following specifications: (Vendor must bid all of none) M26821LOJ XY Stage: -Highest stability stage with resolution of 0.1 µm -Travel range of 100 mm × 75 mm -Hardware and mechanics for mounting on an inverted microscope -Revolving nosepiece freely rotatable with suitable Z sample scanner clearance -Maximum velocity of 120 mm/sec -Direct-metrology linear encoders -Compact and low-profile design to provide free access to sample for inverted microscopes e.g. Olympus IX2 -Object slides and holders for Petri dishes -Self-locking PILine® linear drives -Linear encoders -USB Controller with Joystick -Software support for LabVIEW -Shared libraries for Windows -Command set PI General Command Set (GCS) -Software drivers GCS- DLL and LabVIEW PD73Z2COW Z Piezo Scanner System: -Vertical precision-class nanopositioning system optimized for very fast step-and-settle time of <5 msec with a low profile of 20 mm and a large free aperture with dimensions of 155 mm x 110 mm for object slides or Petri dishes -200 um travel PICMA® piezo actuator drive -Compact E-709 digital servo piezo controller with digital servos to allow adaptation of all control parameters on the fly with control possible via USB -Support for PIMikroMove, NanoCapture and PI General Command Set(GCS) -Include drivers for LabVIEW -Shared libraries for Windows and Linux. M-687.AP1 Holder: -Microscope Universal Holder for Slides and Petri Dishes for PI Stages with 160x110mm Free Aperture. C-843.41 Controller: -Controller for 4 axis positioning of the scanning stages, with digital servo control possible via PCI bus -Servo amplifiers on-board -Pulse Width Modulation outputs for high- power motors -Trapezoidal curve -S-curve and velocity profile programmable, 32 kilosamples RAM for high- speed buffer operations -16 I/ O lines for flexible automation -120 µs for position read, extensive software support including PI GCS (General Command Set) Compatible -PID servo-control with dynamic parameter switching -Software support for LabVIEW Contracting Office Address: 100 Bureau Drive, Building 301 Room B130 Gaithersburg, Maryland 20899-1410 United States Primary Point of Contact.: Brenda J.
