Description
The U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6) is looking for Antibiotic Antimycotic solution 100x, stabilized with 10,000 units penicillin, 10 mg streptomycin and 25ug amphotericin B per mL, sterile-filetered, BioReagent, and Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) heat inactivated, sterile-filtered, suitable for cell culture. The Antibiotic Antimycotic solution provides an antimicrobial spectrum that includes Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, fungi and yeasts. Both are media supplements which provide a wide array of functions in different types of cell culture media. They deliver nutrients, growth and attachment factors, and protect cells from oxidative damage and apoptosis by mechanisms that are difficult to reproduce in systems. Both are manufactured by Sigma-Aldrich and meet our laboratory procedure requirements. Sigma-Aldrich Corporate is a company leading biochemical and chemicals to research science. This quality stance continues to play a key role in the laboratory. If capable sources are not identified through this notice, then NAMRU 6 intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(i) to Sigma-Aldrich. This pre-solicitation is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
