Description
Statement of Work Combined Synopsis/Solicitation The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg Radiation Safety Division (GRSD) is responsible for radiation protection and regulatory compliance matters for NIST's radioactive materials license at the NIST Gaithersburg, MD campus. As part of managing the radiation safety program, GRSD is obligated to promptly detect the presence of contamination due to the use of radioactive materials. GRSD fulfills this obligation using specialized detection equipment, primarily by using Canberra personnel contamination monitors and alpha/beta counting systems. In order to be able to fulfill the mission of prompt detection of radioactive contamination, GRSD needs to have reliable and operational personnel contamination monitors and alpha/beta counting systems. Having these units under a service and repair agreement ensures longer operating periods and quick repairs upon equipment failure. The Contractor shall provide a preventative maintenance service agreement for GRSD's Canberra-manufactured personnel contamination monitors, and alpha/beta counting systems, in order to continue providing prompt detection of radioactive contamination to ensure the safety of the NIST Gaithersburg campus personnel. Reference the attached documents for the complete solicitation.
