- Description
- SYNOPSIS: Mask Aligner System This synopsis is issued in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1) and FAR 5.207. This proposed action is for the procurement of a SUSS Microtec Inc. MABA6 Gen3 Mask Aligner System. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). SUSS Microtec is the only vendor that can provide a device, the MABA6 Mask Aligner System, that in a single integrated solution can meet the requirements for backside alignment, Nano-Imprint Lithography, and the ability to process small samples sizes (5mm x 5mm) without risk of destruction. The Alignment between Nano Imprint Lithography and Photo Lithography is a critical requirement that must be built into the system because it minimizes variance between the two processes and enables Nano-scale research. The SUSS Microtec MABA6 is the only system that provides this alignment capability, which is required for most of AFIT's Nano-research projects. As part of AFIT's research tasks, a requirement exists be able to process a full range of sample sizes from semi-manual processing of small 5mm x 5mm samples and automated processing of 2", 3" or 4" diameter wafers. The SUSS MABA6 is the only known mask aligner system that can process all of these samples without the risk damage during automated processing. Damage of samples equates to failure of AFIT research missions, so minimizing or eliminating the risk of destruction is critical. This proposed procurement will be a sole source award under North American Industry Classification System Code ( NAICS) 334516: Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. Business size standard for NAICS 334516 is 500 employees. PSC code: 6695: Combination and Miscellaneous Instrument. Delivery Schedule: 24 weeks after award of contract Delivery Destination: Air Force Institue of Technology 2950 Hobson Way Bldg. 640 RM 320 Wright Patterson AFB, OH. 45433 Requirement: 1. (1) Q-5106-3 SUSS MABA6 Gen3 Mask Aligner System The proposed source is Suss Microtec Inc. 220 KLUG CIR CORONA, CA, 92880-5409, UNITED STATES. This procurement will not be competed because the aforementioned Suss Microtec Inc. MABA6 Gen3 Mask Aligner System is the only system that will meet the government's minimum requirements. The Government will award a contract to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Technical Capability and Price will be used to evaluate all offers. The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the System for Award Management (SAM) to be the single point of DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the government.
