Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition is 100% set aside for SDVOSB. (ii) The solicitation number is VA241-16-Q-0726 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) A statement that the solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-90. (iv) This requirement is being issued as open market. The associated NAICS code is 339112 and small business size standard is 500 employees. (v) The Government intends to award a contract for the following items: The cell saver is used on all cardiac and vascular procedures and on occasion used in the more complex general and neurosurgery procedures. The cell savers are used to "save" red blood cells of the patient that would otherwise be lost. The reasoning is that by this "saving", the exposure of the patients to allogeneic red blood transfusions is reduced.
