Description

Boston VA Medical Center, specifically the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC) Biorepository, has a requirement to purchase from TECAN, the TECAN EVO 200 DNA Normalization Robot (including installation and software overview). The TECAN EVO DNA Normalization Robot is used as a DNA normalizer to prepare plates for send- out. The main function of the equipment is to provide an automated assessment and normalization of purified DNA and preparation of sample plates for send-outs. The lab has to automate the send- out of thousands of DNA samples which will be handled robotically by this equipment. The requested equipment is necessary to guarantee accurate normalization of DNA extracted from human blood samples. The robot will be able to pick the right DNA sample for the sample-send-outs from a given worklist. This equipment is consistent and compatible with similar, existing TECAN equipment currently used in the MAVERIC Biorepository. Additionally, this equipment is intended to serve as a back-up when and/or if needed when one of the other machines fail, and will also guarantee appropriate sample processing capabilities, accurate and sufficient operation of DNA purification, provide study stake-holders and analysis labs with high quality DNA, and facilitate the process of large volumes of samples. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes they are capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Friday, September 9 at 1:00 PM EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
