This is a request for information only (RFI) to identify Business sources that are able to supply a brand name only (Thawrox ) road salt requested to be delivered to the Clement J Zablocki VAMC, Milwaukee, WI. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the government. The Dept of Veterans Affairs has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and the release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become government property and will not be returned. Responders are advised that the US Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website. Vendor shall provide the following brand name only road salt for the Clement J Zablocki VAMC, Milwaukee, WI. Vendor shall provide the following product: Item No.Description (includes manufacturer and part number) QTYUNITUNIT PRICETOTAL PRICE 1Thawrox 500tons TOTAL COST Salient characteristics: 1.Requested road salt to be free of sand, stone, fillers, or debris. Upon inspection, if road salt is found to be contaminated with any kind of debris, the shipment/delivery will be halted. 2.Weight tickets must be provided upon delivery. Loads of salt will not be accepted unless a delivery ticket is provided upon arrival. 3.Delivery requires use of a truck with open trailer to unload salt (dump truck). 4.The government reserves the right to change the storage location or the amount of salt delivered. 5.The contractor is responsible for immediately cleaning up any spills, debris, etc., which may occur during delivery.
