Description

THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR BID. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. THE TENATIVE ADVERTISEMENT DATE IS SEPTEMBER 26, 2016. THIS PROJECT WILL BE ADVERTISED ON A FULL AND OPEN BASIS. The Halona Street Bridge project is located on Halona Street, M.P. 20.21, adjacent to the Interstate Route H-1 on ramp from Vineyard Boulevard, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Work consists of demolition and reconstruction of the Halona Street Bridge and roadway approaches. The replacement bridge consists of a three-span structure with a total length of approximately 131 feet, and a deck width of 39 feet. New Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil-Integrated Bridge System ( GRS-IBS) abutments will be constructed behind the existing abutments, and the existing bridge piers will be removed and replaced with new bridge piers founded on driven, pre-cast/pre-stressed piles. The superstructure consists of pre-cast / pre-stressed slab girders with a cast in place concrete deck, sidewalk and bridge railing. Additional incidental work includes but is not limited to survey and staking, placement of aggregate base, asphalt paving, utility relocations (overhead lighting, waterline, gas, and storm sewer), cofferdam construction and dewatering, erosion control, contractor quality control and testing, structural excavation, shoring and bracing, and permanent and temporary traffic management. Construction Duration: Construction is anticipated from late November. The contracting range for this project is $4 to $7 million.
