Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Ann Arbor Medical Center, VISN 10 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source for the following items listed below. The associated NAICS code for this is 339112. The vendor will be Leica Microsystems Inc., 1700 Leider Ln, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089-6622. Description of requirements: The Leica Microsystems Inc. is proprietary software. That is used to perform preventive maintenance and unlimited emergency repairs of Government owned Leica Microsystems. The pathology department uses the Leica Aperio ScanScope CS2 (software updates only) equipment and only OEM parts to maintain standard precision and accuracy for all systems and their components. The location of equipment and service is at the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center, Ann Arbor MI 48105. A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
