- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) intends to award a purchase order to Integra Biosciences Corp, 2 Wentworth Drive, Hudson, NH 03061. The North American industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Integra Biosciences Corp, is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required instrument and no other product will satisfy the agency's requirements. The purpose of this requirement is to purchase a Viaflo 96, automated pipetting system. This system will assist the lab in increasing the efficiency and accuracy of in vitro cell culture in the development of human toxicological responses to environment chemicals. The small footprint automatic pipettor will need to be positioned inside a biosafety cabinet for cell culture work which is an integral part of the lab's research. This system must be able to automatically pipette 96 samples simultaneously with a single unit from 0.5ul up to 1250ul. In additional the following unique features are offered with the Viaflo 96 system. •The VIAFLO 96 is the only system in this class with electronic tip loading and tip ejection •The VIAFLO 96 is the only system used like a hand-held pipette for flexibility and intuitive ease of use. •The VIAFLO 96 allows multiple reagents to be aspirated and dispense by introducing air gaps during aspiration. The requested Viaflo 96 system by Integra Biosciences Corp, is the same Viaflo system presently used in the lab at the NIEHS, and is compatible with the parts and software, thereby making it interchangeable with the existing equipment. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for quotes. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting NIEHS' requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which, if received by the response date of this announcement, may be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and shall be emailed to Valarie K. Sims at sims3@niehs.nih.gov and are due by 9:00am on September 16, 2016. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
