- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to issue six Research and Development (R&D) contracts on behalf of the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Maryland. The six contracts are in support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Chemical Defense Program. This notice of intent provides the six collaborators contracts citing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(i) through selection in the National Insitute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Interagency Agreement (IAA) with the US Army Medical Research and Material Command (USAMRMC). The following six proposals were selected for funding to be administered in coordination with USAMRICD collaborators: University of Utah, "Pediatric Susceptibility to Nerve-Agent and Organophospahte-Inducted Seizures and Effectiveness of Anticonvulsant Treatments"; Caregie Mellon University, "Generation of a Bioengineered Posterior Cornea Construct for Use in Evaluating Mechanisms of Ocular Vesicant Injury"; University of Utah, "A Rat Electrographic Model of Organophosphate-Induced Seizures to Evaluate Delayed Treatment with Novel Anticonvulsants"; Sam Houston State University, "Development of a Cyanide Sensor and Analytical Assays for Cyanide and its Countermeasures"; South Dakota State, "Development of a Cyanide Sensor and Analytical Assays for Cyanide and its Countermeasures; and the University of Colorado, "Development of a Cyanide Sensor and Analytical Assays for Cyanide and its Countermeasures.".
