- Description
- The Contracting Department, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA, 23511-3392 intends to negotiate a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price type contract with Life Technologies Corporation and will utilize the procedures of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Requirement is Sole Source because Thermo Fisher Scientific manufactured the Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast Dx Real-Time PCR system requiring maintenance and service. In order to be in compliance with the 510(k) clearance obtained from the FDA, Thermo Fisher Scientific personnel are required to perform instrument calibration every six months. Thermo Fisher s certified engineers are only available thru Life Technologies Corporation. Therefore in order be FDA compliant Life Technologies Corporation is the only service provider authorized to perform the required services. Contract will consist of a base and 4 option years. Base year period of performance will commence on 01 October 2016 and continue up to and thru 30 September 2017. The Government will conduct an acceptance inspection at the point of delivery. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219 with a size standard of $20.5 million. A complete RFQ package will be available on or about 28 September 2016 by downloading the documents at the NECO Website as follows: http:// www.neco.navy.mil. Potential contractors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the solicitation will ONLY be available for download at the above site; this office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting an offer, the vendor is self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the offer. By submission of an offer, the contractor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for awards to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the SAM database will make a contractor ineligible for award.
