- The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to Curtiss-Wright Engineered Pump Division for on-site field service, technical direction, and assistance for the Main Seawater (MSW) Pump on a Virginia class submarine. This requirement is to provide the technical services of a qualified Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representative to provide test equipment, (proprietary) special tools, and technical direction to retest/troubleshoot/correct discrepancies with the Pump alterations of the Main Seawater Pump. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Curtiss-Wright owns the proprietary equipment, proprietary drawings, special tooling, and is experienced in performing the appropriate procedures and services required. Curtiss Wright, as the pump OEM, is the only vendor that is authorized to accomplish the requirement procedures. Place of Performance is the New London Sub Base (NSSF), Groton CT. Period of Performance is 1/5/2017 to 2/3/2017. Detailed specifications and solicitation documents will be provided shortly.
