Description
Sources Sought Notice Demonstration Science & Technology Project The U.S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command- Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), located at Picatinny Arsenal NJ, is conducting a market survey for the support of Demonstration Science & Technology Project. The Munitions Systems & Technology is responsible for performing life cycle engineering for all munition systems which include tank artillery, mortar, small and medium caliber rockets, shoulder fired and recoilless, demolition munitions as well as vehicle protection systems. The US Army Contracting Command has been tasked to research and develop the next generation of tools for possible operations in the field. • We are interested in technologies associated with rapid horizontal boring, mining, or trenching. • The technology of interest must be capable of rapidly boring horizontally through soil such as sand or clay for a distance of 100 feet in 5 minutes. The technology must be self-contained and not require any external rigs or apparatuses. It is not necessary for this technology to be reusable so it may be disposed of after use. The borehole diameter must be greater than 1 inch and less than 6 inches. • Responses should include one or more of the following: 1. Details of existing proof of principle devices which may have or will lead to development of larger or smaller devices. 2. Details of miniature versions of current boring machines which can be modified to meet the requirements in this survey. 3. Basic plan for tailoring a vertical boring technology to meet the needs specified in this survey. 4. Any other ideas that your peers may have not supported but you believe have merit. Vendor Questionnaire: The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information from industry to assist in the market research. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest and capability to satisfy the above requirements by identifying the following items: 1) Organization Name 2) Company Address / Country Represented / Website 3) Company point of contact and phone number 4) Business Size (Small/Large & Number of Employees), the Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code / Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) Number 5) Description of technical approach to address this SSN 6) Summary of past experiences covering the last five (5) years 7) The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 213111 8) Commerciality: (a.) Our product as described above, has been sold, leased or licensed to the general public (b.) Our product as described above, has been sold in substantial quantities, on a competitive basis, to multiple state and local governments. The development of the product was done exclusively at private expense. (c) None of the above applies. Explain. 9) Location where primary work will be performed (if more than one location, please indicate the percentage for each location). 10) Major partners or suppliers.
