- Description
- GARRISON GENERATOR YARD The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is seeking business sources, both Large and Small business that can provide improvements to the Garrison Generator Yard. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. NO AWARD WILL BE MADE FROM THIS NOTICE. NO SOLICITATION OR ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; THEREFORE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will provide civil and site improvements for the Garrison Generator Yard (formerly the Garrison Switchyard). The project will consist of grading improvements to address drainage problems including the removal of existing deficient material and installation of a new subgrade, aggregate base course, and crushed rock surfacing to provide a positive slope drainage. Portions of the ground grid may be removed or replaced as necessary to facilitate the improvements and to meet IEEE design requirements for minimum depth. Demolition and potential removal of numerous piers will also be required. High voltage power line relocation and replacement of the exterior perimeter fence may be performed. Currently, the location of the Garrison Generator Yard no longer has positive drainage toward the perimeter of the yard, resulting in water ponding. Ponding of water is a reoccurring problem in the generator yard and is causing a safety hazard at the Garrison Dam. In addition, the water extends through the aggregate to subgrade level and the effective depth of the ponded water is greater than what is observed from the surface. The standing water and saturated soils are causing numerous problems to include but not limited to: accessibility of loaded machinery, degradation of the grounding materials, and durability of the ground mat. Interested parties are requested to provide the information below in response to this synopsis. CAPABILITY/EXPERIENCE: 1. Offeror/Contractor's name, address, point of contact, phone number, and email address. 2.
