Description

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE Pharmaceutical Pass-Through Refrigerator; Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center, (Jefferson Barracks Division) Clinic Building 55 1.0 Description 1.1 The St. Louis VA in support of the Jefferson Barracks Major Projects is seeking information to determine procurement strategy for providing a pharmaceutical pass-through refrigerator to meet the needs of a dimensional specification for the new Clinic Building currently under construction at the VA Medical Center, Jefferson Barracks Division, St. Louis MO. 1.2 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the VA is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Interested Contractors are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2.0 Background A New Clinic Building is being constructed for the St. Louis VA Jefferson Barracks campus. The pass-through refrigeration unit has been specified to fit a wall opening in the construction contract. The VA needs to procure the pharmacy pass-through refrigerator if and when a RFP and resulting contract is awarded. 3.0 Requested Information 3.1 The pharmacy pass-through refrigerator must meet the following minimum technical requirements: Digital temperature display Welded, heavy duty construction 8 adjustable wire coated shelves Uniform temperature between 2 and 8 °C Self-closing, sliding double-pane glass doors Illuminated interior 3.3 The VA is seeking insight to the procurement strategy for soliciting a pass-through refrigerator and seeking the following information: Is there a pharmacy pass-through unit meeting the exterior dimensions specified in the construction contract - 54" W x 32" D x 74" H? If no units are available in the specified dimensions, what models are available with dimensions close to those specified? 4.0 Responses 4.1 Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI via e-mail only to Amanda.Renth@va.gov with cc: to Karen Munroe, Contracting Officer; email: karen.munroe@va.gov no later than December 14, 2016. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. 4.2 Interested Offerors shall provide, at a minimum, the following information: Name, mailing address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail of designated point of contact. 4.2.2 Estimated cost with product brochure/information 4.2.3. Business type (large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a)-certified small disadvantaged business, HUBZone small business, woman-owned small business, very small business, veteran- owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business) based upon North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 333415, Scientific Equipment and Services. If SDVOSB/VOSB, contractor must be registered with VetBiz Vendor Information Pages at www.va.gov/osdbu. 5.0 Summary 5.1 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can provide casework interior layout services. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The VA has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
