Description
This notice is a synopsis in accordance with FAR 5.101 for a proposed contract action to Contract W31P4Q-11-C-0309 published at least 15 days before the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations and a solicitation will not be issued for this requirement. The Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal intends to award a modification to the existing Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem (IBAS) Engineering Services (ES) contract which will extend the contract period of performance from 1 March 2017 through 30 November 2017. The extension will provide for the continuation of ES in support of fielded IBAS, components and support equipment. This nine month extension of services is accomplished pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This nine month extension is intended to be awarded to DRS-NIS, LLC under FAR 6.302-1 as award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of costs to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and there would be unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. This extension is necessary to allow time for the award of the follow-on contract. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this additional period of performance notice. Written comments or questions regarding this notice must be e-mailed to Barbara.j.balaban.civ@mail.mil and dorphelia.b.foster.civ@mail.mil.
