- Sources Sought for MAFFS Ground Compressor This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from all qualified sources to supply ground compressor(s) for the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) program. We also wish to seek potentially qualified sources with indication of business size classification, including: Small Businesses (SB); Service Disabled Veteran owned Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) small business concerns, hubzone, 8a, etc. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Background: The sources sought is attempting to seek suppliers who are interested in providing ground compressor(s). The ground compressor is used to pump large volumes of fire retardant to aircraft in support of national wildland fire suppression for the MAFFS program. The MAFFS aircraft can be refilled by the portable USFS air compressors on the ground in about 14 minutes. The ground compressors are moved to air tanker bases as needed when the MAFFS aircraft are activated. Minimum requirements: The ground compressor is to conform to the following specifications: a. Approximately 210 SCFM compressor output b. Fill system with air through 120' of ¾" hose to 1200 psi in 15 minutes (Volume 57 Cubic Feet) c. Compressor must fit on airlift pallet (108" W x 88" L x 5' H) d. Ground compressor weight approximately 5,600 lbs. or less including pallet weight.. Interested vendors should attach information about the company including brochures, etc., and include the following information about your company: (1) Company Name and DUNS Number (2) Mailing Address (3) Point of Contact to include phone/fax number and e-mail (4) Identify whether your company is small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, hubzone, 8(a) certified small business concern, service disabled veteran owned, or etc. (5) Degree of experience in providing same or similar item (6) Under NAICS Code 333912 - Air and Gas Compressor Manufacturing. If another NAICS code may be applicable, please identify the NAICS in your response Your responses will be due by Friday, December 02, 2016, 04:00PM (CST).
