Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE Products similar to Sedia System JumpSeat Chair CLINIC BUILDING, VAMC, JEFFERSON BARRACKS DIVISION, ST. LOUIS, MO Description The St. Louis VAMC in support of the Jefferson Barracks Major Projects is seeking information to determine availability of a product equal to the JumpSeat Chair by Sedia Systems. This is a request for information only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue in RFQ/RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the VA is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Interested Contractors are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. Background A new Clinic Building is currently under construction at the St. Louis VA Jefferson Barracks campus. The average exam room is 120 SQ FT and it is often necessary for staff to move freestanding side chairs into the corridor to allow the patient to navigate the space within the room with a wheelchair or scooter. Sedia System manufactures a floor mounted chair that folds to a 9 depth and would eliminate the need to move chairs, wheelchairs or scooters into the corridor. The VA is interested in determining if any other manufacturer offers a similar product that will meet the following requirements: Weight Capacity: 600 LB minimum Available with arms for aid in egress Available with Vinyl Upholstery Depth no greater than 12 including base when not in use 2.5 No exposed wood finish 2.6 Easy clean out between seat and back Requested Information Are any similar chairs available If so, are they on GSA Schedule Responses Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI via email only to Karen.Munroe@va.gov. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Interested Offerors shall provide, at a minimum, the following information: Name, mailing address, phone number, fax number, and email or designated point of contact. 4.2.2 Estimated cost with product brochure/information. Business type (large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a) certified small disadvantage business, HUBZONE small business, woman-owned small business, very small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business) based upon North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 337127 Furniture, public building (e.g., church, library, school, theater) manufacturing. If SDVOSB/VOSB, contractor must be registered with VetBiz Vendor Information Pages at www.va.gov/osdbu. Questions Questions regarding this announcement shall be submitted in writing by email to the Contracting Officer, email address: Karen.Munroe@va.gov. Summary THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can provide interior layout services. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The VA has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
