Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate ONLY with St. Jude Medical, the sole manufacturer of mechanical heart valves under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) for the prosthetic supplies listed below because they are the only responsible source to provide mechanical heart valves with a controlled torque rotation mechanism for easy rotation and intraoperative adjustment: Quantity 1 ea: Masters Aortic Valve 25MM (item # 25AJ-501) Quantity 1 ea: Masters Aortic Valve 29MM (item # 27AJ-501) All shipments will be delivered to Birmingham, AL 35233 ANTICIPATED AWARD INFORMATION: The award will be made in accordance with FAR 13 under NAICS 339113 and award is anticipated on 9 December 2016. A FIRM FIXED PRICED solicitation and/or order is anticipated. FOR INTERESTED SOURCES: All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responses received within 10 days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
