- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Government plans to award two Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), modifications to the current FFP eight year Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) production Contract W56HZV- 16-C-0028 awarded on a competitive basis to DRS SUSTAINMENT SYSTEMS, INC. (DRS) on 11 May 2016. The XM1110 Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) program is an Army and United States Marine Corps (USMC) joint Interest program to replace the legacy M48/M60 tank-based Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB) system. The JAB system will be a fully-tracked armored combat engineer vehicle specifically designed to provide Armored Brigade Combat Teams assault bridging capabilities to support maneuver elements. The purpose of these modifications is to install four enhancements to the base chassis to provide improved protection for the JAB crew. The first modification will install the enhancements to the base chassis on the first ten Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) JAB systems. The second modification will install the four enhancements to the base chassis on the remaining JAB systems. To maximize subcontracting opportunities, DRS will be directed contractually to compete work at principal subcontractor and lower tier vendor levels in support of Government competition objectives. Disclaimer: This is a sources sought notice and is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the information contained in this posting or information received as a result of this posting.
