- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N00259-17-N-0020. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Alcon Laboratories, Inc. 6201 South Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76134-2001. The objective of this sole source award is to acquire custom packs for Phacoemulsification (Phaco) surgeries. Sole source is based on Alcon's ability to provide custom Phacoemulsification packs that are specifically manufactured for the Alcon Infinity Phaco System already in place at the hospital and used by the Ophthalmology department. In order to meet the required characteristics the vendor must be able to provide custom Phacoemulsification packs that are compatible with the Alcon Infinity Phaco System. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339115; the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 10:00 AM Pacific Time on Dec 6, 2016 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Jaime Flores at Jaime.r.flores4.civ@mail.mil. The email subject line shall state, "Naval Medical Center San Diego, Intent to Award Sole Source to Alcon Laboratories, Inc."
