Description
The Government is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey. This questionnaire is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this notice. Requirement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates soliciting a requirement for a firm fixed price construction contract to remove and replace the existing medium-voltage cables for each of the four (4) generating units at the Barkly Power Plant, Kuttawa, KY, with new 15kV MV-105 cables and associated Class 1A terminations. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The types of work and skill sets for this requirement are as follows: a)Modification, installation, termination, and testing of medium-voltage (greater than 480V to 35kV) power house bus work and cables; b)Dissemble and removal of medium voltages cables and associated Class 1C terminations; c)Procurement and installation of 15kV MV-105 cables and associated Class 1A terminations; d)Procurement and installation of temporary 15kV Feeders complete with cable tray and supporting system; e)Installation of control system and alarms in control rooms and machinery areas to include items such as digital/analog controls, meters and human/machine interface systems; f)Development of asbestos abatement plans associated with power plant cable systems and abatement of asbestos in accordance with approved plans; g)Development of environmental mitigation plan for oil and lead removal; h)Procurement and/or manufacture and installation of custom electrical control panels; i)Perform special factory and special field tests of new cable systems. The anticipated NAICS code is 237130, Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction, with a small business size standard of $36.5 million in annual receipts. Survey The Government is issuing this notice to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation and the items listed herein are subject to change or eliminated from the requirement. This questionnaire is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this notice. Your response to this survey is requested by Friday, December 30, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST).
