- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the p urchase of spare parts for the High Gain Measurement System. These items are spare parts which the manufacturer of the cable system modified to fit the NSWCCD's specifications and are, therefore, non-commercial. The NAICS code is 334519 and the Product/Service Code is 6145. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Applied Physical Sciences. The proposed action is for the purchase of replacement parts for a cable system developed by APS. APS is the manufacturer of the system and parts, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: APS is the only source for these non-commercial spare parts as they designed the cable system. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Applied Physical Sciences using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 03 January 2017. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 01/03/2017 at 10:00 AM EST will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
