SOURCES SOUGHT This Sources Sought is being issued for planning purposes only and it is not a solicitation or pre-solicitation notice. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Air force will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in RESPONDING to this sources sought. The 628th Contracting Squadron (628 CONS) at Joint Base Charleston, SC is seeking to identify contractors who are authorized and capable of providing and installing a Passive Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Protection Systems. 628 CONS is seeking information concerning interested vendors and products and equipment available in the market. The following information is requested: System Description: System should be capable of providing threat neutralization for multiple RPG's Area of Protection: Does the contractor's system provide RPG Protection System provide 360° protection to shelter or equipment exterior? What size area can the contactor's system protect? Standoff: What is the contractor system's standoff distance? Ingress/ Egress: Does the contractor's system restrict entry into or exit from a shelter or access to covered equipment? Visibility: Does the contractor's system restrict visibility while inside the protected area? If visibility is restricted, what is the restriction in terms of percentage of obstructed view? Color: Is the contractor's system available in the colors of Matte Grey, Matte Black, or combination of both? Weight: What is the weight, per sf, of the contractor's system minus mounting hardware & frames? System Approval for Use: Has the contractor's system been accepted for use by the US Department of Defense, or any branch thereof? Performance/ Effectiveness: Can the contractor's system provide multiple threat neutralization greater than 70%? What is the threat neutralization measurement/capability? Shelter Maintenance: Once the contractor's system is in place, does the system restrict possible maintenance of a shelter or covered equipment? If so, what are the restrictions? Service/ Storage Life: What is the contractor's system service and storage life? Environmental Performance: Does the contractor's system conform to, or meet any U.S. National or International standards for environmental performance? Has the contractor's system been tested for adherence to the U.S. national or international standard for environmental performance? Cleaning: What are the maintenance and cleaning requirements for the contractor's system? Small and large businesses are sought. AT A MINIMUM, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS REQUIRED: (a) A positive statement of your interest on any potential RPG Protection System solicitation (b) Business Size, Duns, Cage Code, Tax ID, and Point of Contact (c) Contractor product information related to the available RPG Protection System, addressing the questions above All of the above information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested businesses. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested vendor. If adequate interest is not received from vendors, then a sole source notification will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities without further notice. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339999 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. All prospective contractors must have a current and valid CAGE code and DUNS number in order to be eligible for award.
